A little about me, my experience, and my approach to counseling...

I believe that counseling is an individual journey as unique as each client. I enjoy collaborating with each client to identify their personal goals for the counseling experience.  My goal as a therapist is to help clients identify and utilize their strengths while also challenging them to try new approaches that can lead to different experiences. I do this by giving clients a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space to explore what's really going on in their lives. I help clients develop insight around their struggles and patterns, and help them identify and practice real ways to move forward and make meaningful changes.

I provide therapy for individuals facing a wide variety of concerns. I have a passion for working with clients facing life transitions, women’s issues, relationship issues, substance use disorders, eating disorders, disordered eating and body image concerns. I enjoy helping clients develop self compassion as they identify and harness their unique strengths.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC009824) in the Sate of Georgia and a National Certified Counselor (336444). I am also a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS1871) in the state of Georgia. In addition to providing in person counseling to clients in my Atlanta office, I am also approved to provide tele-health via virtual video sessions to clients located in Georgia and Florida. My educational experience includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Women's Studies, and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University. My professional experience includes working as both a therapist and clinical director in residential and outpatient treatment settings for adults with substance use disorders and eating disorders. I also have experience working with adolescents and adults struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues in a behavioral health hospital setting. My approach counseling clients in recovery includes an understanding of 12 step programs for substance use disorders as well as alternative and mindfulness based recovery approaches. I encourage clients to pursue an approach that will best fit their unique needs.

I founded The Center for Transformation and Renewal in 2018 with the goal of empowering clients to make meaningful changes towards mental health and well-being. In my personal life, I enjoy staying active in my personal yoga practice, trying new restaurants with friends and family, and spending time outside with my dog Sadie.
